STARKVILLE – Edith Kent, 76, died Feb. 12, 2021, at her residence. Funeral services will be at10 a.m. Thursday, at Adaton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Hal Shelby officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Welch Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Kent was born March 6, 1944, to the late Lonnie Lawrence and mavis Maxine Price. She was a member of Adaton Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Henry Kent; and son, Tracey Lee Kent. She is survived by her children, Sammy Lawrence Kent Sr. of Casa Grande, Arizona, Michael Ervin Ken of Sturgins and Robin Janelle Kent of Starkville; brother, Lawrence Cleatus Price of Starkville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
