HAMILTON, Ala. — Dottie Thompson, 73, died July 7, 2016, at Golden Living Nursing Home in Winfield, Alabama. Services are 1 p.m. today at Otts Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Allman Cemetery. Visitation is 11:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Ms. Thompson was born March 14, 1943, in Detroit, Alabama, to the late Enlow and Laura Frances Hollis Thompson. She was formerly employed as a seamstress for Detroit Slacks, and councilwoman for the town Detroit. She was a member of Allman Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, two brothers, Thomas Thompson and Murray Thompson; and one sister, Sylvia Thompson. She is survived by son, Derrick Thompson of Hamilton; daughter, Terra Clark of Hamilton; brother, Bobby Thompson of Sulligent; sisters, Alice Smith of Detroit, Edena Cork and Doris Mitchell, both of Vernon, Alabama; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers are Billy Wayne Williams, Garland Clark, Joel Stewart, Tony Ray Truelove, Tony Truelove and Terry Truelove.
