SULLIGENT, Ala. — Dorothy Jean Seripin, 90, died March 12, 2019, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo. Services are 2 p.m. today at Sulligent First Baptist Church in Sulligent with Byron Pickering officiating. Burial will follow at the Gilmer addition of the Sulligent City Cemetery, Visitation is today from noon-2 p.m. at the church. Dorothy, or better known as MawMaw Dot, was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Galatia, Illinois, to the late George and Blanche Griffin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, George Griffin and William Griffin; sisters, Edith Lasseter and Gleeda Smith. She is survived by her husband, Frank Rupert Seripin; daughter, Cathy Harbison of Trussville, Alabama; son, Mike Seripin of Sulligent; brother, Billy Joe Griffin of Alton, Illinois; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Tim Clark, Homer Crutchfield, Matthew Gilmore, Steve Griffin, Teddy Gunter and Jim Rooks
