COLUMBUS — Dorothy McCrary Schenck, 79, died Oct. 15, 2022.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Oct. 27, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. Visitation was one hour prior to the services. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Schenck was born April 3, 1943, to the late Payton and Syretha McCrary. She was formerly employed as a machinist and was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gene McCrary, Thomas McCrary, David Lee McCrary, James Berry, Alonza McCrary and Elton McCrary; sisters, Lillie Durant, Vivian McCrary and Jessie Ruth Moseley; and one grandchild.
She is survived by her daughter, Abby Webber of Cherryville, North Carolina; sons, Gene W. Schenck Jr. of Hinesville, Georgia, and Warren G. Schenck II of Lawndale, North Carolina; sisters, Ella Taylor of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Bennie Bonner and Elizabeth Miller, both of Columbus; brothers, Payton McCrary Jr. and Terry Duman, brother of Columbus; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
