Graveside services for Mrs. Dorothy Faye Howard, of Gadsden, age 69, will be held Sunday, February 1, 2009, at 3:00 from the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery with Bro. Billy Boatwright officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturday, January 31, 2009. Mrs. Howard died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Riverview Regional Medical Center. Survivors include one son, Tim (wife Angela) Jackson of Caledonia, MS; one grandson, Russell (wife Angela) Jackson of Offutt AFB, NE; one grand-daughter, Amber (husband Gary) Baswell of Heidelberg, Germany; three sisters, Brenda Denton of Valley, Janelle Powell of Spartanburg, SC, Della Boggess of Milton, FL; one brother, Benny Pinkard of Alexander City, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Howard was born July 9, 1939, daughter of Malone and Georgia Messer Pinkard. She was a member of the Gospel Temple Christian Church and had worked for the Etowah County Sheriff’s Department. Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Howard; her parents; four sisters, Christine Sims, Audie Mae Brown, Willie Bell Ensley, Jettie Blevins; three brothers, Cecil Pinkard, John Thomas Pinkard and Howle Pinkard. The family suggest in lieu of flowers donations be made to Gospel Temple Christian Center, 48 Lake Hardin Rd, Gadsden, AL, 35904.
