Annie Doris Potts, 81, of Ethelsville, Alabama, died Aug. 31, 2016, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pine Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to and immediately following services at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wayne Potts; and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Kay Potts Swendseid and husband, Nick; son, Michael Wayne Potts and wife, Susie; sister, Anita Bauder and husband, Bob; brother, David G. Johnson and wife, Dianne; granddaughter, Catherine Michelle Tilley; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Doris was born June 22, 1935, in Columbus, Mississippi, to the late David Henry Johnson and Annie Pearl Bolton Johnson. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, a homemaker and well known resident of Pickens County. Pallbearers will be Mike Potts, David Johnson, Nick Swendseid, Bobby Eaton, Mark Randall and James Stevenson. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
