Donald Glenn “Shotgun” Guyton, age 71, died Thursday, October 25, 2012, at his residence in Columbus. Services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bryan Atkins officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to service. Mr. Guyton was born on Thursday, February 20, 1941, in Booneville, MS to the late Roy V. and Myrtis Saxon Guyton Sr. He was a member of the Highway 69 Church of Christ and a retired salesman for Sunbeam Bread. Survivors include his wife, Jimmie L. Guyton of Columbus, MS; sons, Johnnie Guyton (Julie), of Caledonia, MS and Michael Guyton (Pamela), of Orlando, FL; brother, Roy V. Guyton, Jr., of Columbus, MS; and 7 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Melvin Easley, Sam Harris, Brian Carver, Danny Kelly, Wayne McGairty, and Jordan Basham. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men of Highway 69 Church of Christ, and Dr. Lance Busch.
