Davis Junior Shaw, 75, of Columbus, MS, passed away Saturday, April 06, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hosptial-GT in Columbus, MS. Visitation was Sunday, April 7, 2019, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services were Monday, April 8, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Columbus, MS, with Dr. Bill Hurt officiating and Bro. David Honeycutt and Bro. Chester Shaw assisting. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS, with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Shaw was born April 15, 1943, in Millport, AL, to the late Wilford Andrew and Essie Byars Shaw. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Columbus, MS. Mr. Shaw lived his lifetime in Pickensville, AL, Millport, AL and Columbus, MS. He graduated from Liberty High School in Liberty, AL, in 1961. Mr. Shaw married the former Dorothy “Dot” Turnage on July 3, 1965, in Columbus, MS. He was in the timber business for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Aldridge. Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy “Dot” Turnage Shaw of Columbus, MS; daughter, Lisa (David) Lockhart of Columbus, MS; grandsons, Andrew Lockhart and Austin Lockhart; sisters, Lounell Aldridge and Irene Oglesby; and brother, Chester Shaw. Pallbearers were Tony Boykin, Jeffrey Oglesby, Jerry Aldridge, Brent Aldridge, Rollin Turnage and Ken Byrd. Honorary Pallbearers were the Doctors and Staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT and Baptist Hospice and Liberty High School Class of 1961.
