David Austin Ivey

David Austin Ivey, 42 of Columbus, MS, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2009, at his residence. Visitation was held Saturday, April 18, 2009, from 9 to 10 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services were held at 10 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Andy Pearson officiating and Pastor Pamela Cameron assisting. Interment was in Stonewall Cemetery, Stonewall, MS, with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS, directing. Mr. Ivey was born January 6, 1967, in Meridian, MS, to Juanita Langley Ely and the late Austin Grady Ivey. He was a resident of Columbus, MS, for the past thirty years having moved from Meridian, MS. Mr. Ivey was employed as a painter with True-Grit, a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, Circle M Hunting Club, loved hunting and fishing. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his sister – Tammy Lynn Ivey. Mr. Ivey is survived by his mother – Nita Ely, Lake Charles, LA; sons – Reed Ivey, Millport, AL and Cole Ivey, Millport, AL; and brother – Hunter Ely, Baton Rouge, LA. Pallbearers were Reed Ivey, Hunter Ely, Stacy Ryals, Rusty Jones, Chris Aughtry, Toby Robins and Bubba Buchannan. Honorary pallbearer was Cole Ivey.
