Dannie Rice Sr.

WEST POINT — Dannie Lee Rice Sr., 76, died May 5, 2022, North Mississippi Medical – West Point.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, at Pool’s Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Thomas Rice. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 2:30-3 p.m. prior to services at the cemetery. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rice was born March 17, 1946, in Macon, to the late Carl Rice Sr. and Lillie Lee Washington Rice. He served as a pastor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Willie James Rice, Bobby Rice, Michael Anthony Rice, Thomas Nelson Rice, and Roosevelt Rice, Pennie Rice Bailey, Carlene Rice Brownlee, Brenda Kaye Rice, and Sylvia Rice Sain.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne A. Rice; children, Dannie Lee Rice Jr., Joseph Orchard, Danyelle Rice, Belinda Rice, Myra Rice, Lillian Rice Manning, Clenteria Harris, Eria Rice Mitchell, and LeKeva Calhoun; siblings, Carl Rice Jr., Leroy Rice, Julius Wayne Rice, Linda Faye Dixon, Everlena Rice Martin, Annie Mae Rice-Grady, and Mary Helen Rice Summerall; 21 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
