BROOKSVILLE — Cleo Tate, 72, died Feb. 2, 2010, in Columbus. Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion MB Church with the Rev. Mack Young officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is today from 1-6 p.m. and the family will greet from 5-6 p.m. at Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon. Mr. Tate was born Nov. 24, 1937, in Noxubee County to the late Gladys Stewart and George B. Tate. He was employed with Noxubee County Road Department and he was a member of Mount Zion MB Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Maggie Boyd; brothers, Mose Tate Sr., Earnest and Sam Tate; and one grandchild. He is survived by his wife, Lillie R. Tate, of Brooksville; children, Regina Riley, of Omaha, Neb., Linda Stevenson, of Brooksville, and Donald Stevenson, of Columbus; brothers, L.S. Tate, of Northport, Ala., and James Earl Tate, of Madison, Wis.; sisters, Bobbie Jean Tate, of Northport, Ida Bell Clemons, of Brooksville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Julius Boyd, Edward Boyd, James Boyd, Leon Boyd, Rufus Boyd Jr., Mose Tate Jr., Roy Clemons and Roy Tate.
