GORDO, Ala. — Clay Crawford Koon, 85, died Oct. 29, 2012, at Salem Nursing and Rehab. Services are Thursday at 3 p.m. at Gordo First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Singleton officiating. Burial will follow in Gordo City Cemetery with Masonic rites. Visitation is today from 6-8 p.m. at Skelton Funeral Home of Reform. Mr. Koon was born March 18, 1927, to the late George E. Koon Sr., and Rona Crawford Koon. He was a graduate of Gordo High School and Livingston College. He was a member of Gordo First Baptist Church, Gordo Masonic Lodge #564 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe L. Koon; and sister, Lela Faye Koon. Survivors include his wife, Elease Montgomery Koon; daughter, Toni Koon Harper; son, Terry Layne Koon; brother, George E. Koon Jr.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are deacons of the church.
