COLUMBUS — Carllie C. Canady, 82, died March 30, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital–Golden Triangle. Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Fifteenth Street Church of God in Christ with Pastor Steve Jamison officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be today from 3-8 p.m. at Carter’s Funeral Services in Columbus with the family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m. The body will lie in state one hour before services at the church. Mrs. Canady was born Dec. 1, 1927 in Quitman to the late Jesse Gary and Gertie Parker Gary. She was a former member of St. Nebo MB Church, joining Maranatha Faith Center Church of God in Christ in 1990, where she was a member of the mothers’ board. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ike Canady; son, Anthony Gary; three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include son, Stennis Edwards, of Moss Point; daughter, Regina Brown, of Columbus; sisters, Fannie Mae Wilson, of Moss Point, Lillian Martin, of Pascagoula, and Barbara Rice, of St. Louis; brothers, Charles Gary, of Holly Springs, Harry Gary, of Moss Point, and James Gary, of St. Louis; eight grandchildren.
