Brylan Andrew Newell-Gibson, age 4, died Friday, August 5, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Services will be held Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Stephens and Rev. Steve Lammons officiating, burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday August 10, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home. Brylan was born on Thursday, May 31, 2012 in Columbus, to Joshua Charles Newell and Amber Kathleen Gibson. He attended Vibrant Church and Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors and spent time fishing, Boating, Swimming and playing with friends (Trenton, Jaxon and John Noah) and all his friends in the First Colony subdivision in New Hope. Survivors include: Mother – Amber Kathleen Gibson, Columbus, MS; Father – Joshua Charles Newell, Columbus, MS; Baby Sister – AnnLeigh Benge, Columbus, MS; Maternal Great Grandmother – Pauline D Pugh;Maternal Great Grandfather – (Late) Wallace Pugh; Paternal Grandmother – Gwen G. Alvey (Carl Powe); Paternal Grandfather – James Charles (Chuck) Newell, Jr.; Maternal Grandmother – Kathy A. Blackmon; Paternal Grandmother – Annie G. Gilliland; Paternal Great Grandmother – Wynell Newell; Aunt – Ashley Newell Barnett (Tyler); Aunt – Chasity Stingley Blackburn (Lee); Cousin – Brody Wallace Blackburn; Cousin – Briggs Wesson Blackburn; Cousin – Sadie Alyse Barnett. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Wayne Cook, Michael Brandon Newell, Tyler Barnett and Jep Cole.
