Bonnie Jean Yeatman, 59 of Columbus, MS, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Yeatman was born November 3, 1949 in Tampa, FL as the oldest child of Vernon B. Hemby, Sr. and the late Betty Jean Shores Hemby. She was a resident of Columbus, MS for the past twenty years having moved from Limestone, Maine. Mrs. Yeatman loved helping people and was generous with her time. She also loved caring for dogs and fishing. Mrs. Yeatman was a member of Murrah’s Chapel Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Yeatman is survived by her father, Vernon B. Hemby, Sr., Columbus, MS; son, DeWayne E. (Kelly) Hemby, Oviedo, FL; sisters, Jannie Simpson, Columbus, MS; Jo Anne Kidd, Auburn, AL; brother, Vernon (Vickie) Hemby, Jr, Columbus, MS; grandson, Nicholas Hemby; step-brothers Tommy (Wanda) Richardson, Columbus, MS; Dale (Susan) Richardson, Dunn, NC; Martin (Syndie) Richardson, Ft. Walton, FL; Wallace (Laura) Richardson, Columbus, MS; and step-sister, Peggy (David) Simpson, Columbus, MS. Memorials may be made to the church of donor’s choice. The family would like to give a special word of thanks to her caregivers, the Chaplin of Memorial Baptist Church and to Ben Fones for his support to the family.
