SULLIGENT, Ala. — Bobby Ray Thompson, 66, died Aug. 4, 2016, at Northwest Medical Center-Winfield. Services were at 1 p.m. Sunday at Otts Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in Allman Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to services. Mr. Thompson was born Sept. 7, 1949, to the late Enlow and Laura Frances Hollis Thompson in Lamar County, Alabama. He was a graduate of Todd High School and attended Northwest Community College in Hamilton, Alabama. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was previously employed as a truck driver and with Hyster. He was a member of Allman Chapel CME Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sylvia Mae Thompson and Dottie Thompson; and brothers Thomas and Murray Thompson. He is survived by his daughter, Megan Thompson of Florence, Alabama; and sisters, Alice Smith of Detroit, Alabama, and Edna Cork and Doris Mitchell, both of Vernon, Alabama. Pallbearers will be Garland Clark, Billy Wayne Williams, Terry Noland Jr., Marvin Thompson, Olan Truelove and Douglas Smith.
