COLUMBUS – Bobbie Jean Douglas, 75, died Jan. 6, 2021, at her residence. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Zion Hill M.B. Church, Hwy 69 South, with Bobby Lee Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services Chapel. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Douglas was born Dec. 11, 1945, in Brooksville, to the late Albert Porter and Annie Jane Porter. She was formerly employed as a greeter with Wal-Mart and a member of Zion Hill M.B. Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Douglas Jr. She is survived by her children, Rosie M. Porter, Tyrone A. Porter, James D. Douglas and Marcus D. Douglas all of Columbus; siblings, Hattie Tate, Dorothy Lyons, Jimmy Lyons all of Columbus, Janice Sherrod of Bridgeport, Connecticut, James Porter and Willie Porter both of Detroit, Michigan; 22 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
