WEST POINT – Betty Diane Smith, 64, died Dec. 13, 2020, at NMMC. No services are planned at this time. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Smith was born May 16, 1956, in Pascagoula, to the late James D. Kirkland and Virginia Beckham. She was formerly employed as a support manager of Wal-Mart and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Chuck Kirkland. She is survived by her husband, Robert Smith; children, Amy Pilgrim of Union and Nikki Smith of Caledonia; siblings, Pat Vowell, Danny Kirkland and Sonny Kirkland; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
