COLUMBUS — Ashley Nichole Hayden Shields, 36, died April 18, 2021, in Meridian.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Seventh Street Church of Christ, with Lorenzo Jones officiating. Burial will follow at New Zion M.B. Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shields was born June 15, 1984, in West Point, to Trina Bourne and the late Robert Staples. She was a graduate of Caledonia High School, EMCC, and Mississippi University for Women. She was formerly employed as a pharmacy technician with Walmart Pharmacy and was a member of Seventh Street Church of Christ.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, McCoy Flood Sr.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Bobby Shields; children, Juvante Baldwin, Briyson Boler, Haeidyn Shields and Elijah Lofton, all of Columbus; and siblings, Renarda Dent, McCoy Flood Jr., both of Columbus and Donterio Hayden Sr. of Calera, Alabama.
