Arnold Walker Shufford, 67, died Feb. 8, 2009, at his residence in Columbus. Graveside services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Liberty Freewill Baptist Cemetery in Vernon, Ala. Visitation is Wednesday at Chandler Funeral Home of Vernon from 9:30 a.m. until time to leave for services. Mr. Shufford was born Aug. 15, 1941, in Lamar County, Ala. He was employed by the City of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Frye Shufford of Columbus; sons, Kenneth and Thomas Walker Shufford, both of Columbus; daughter, Pamela Lynn Durham of Thomasville, Ala.; sisters, Ida Mae Flynn of Sulligent, Ala., and Nancy Cole of Vernon; and five grandchildren.
