COLUMBUS — Annie L. Porter, 85, died April 5, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital–Golden Triangle. Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Long Suffering FG Church with the Rev. Bobby L. Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery. Visitation is today from 3-8 p.m. and the family will greet from 6-7 p.m. at Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus. Mrs. Porter was born April 8, 1924, in Columbus, to the late Sam Sanders and Sallie Mae Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah Porter, and sons, Henry Lee and Nathaniel Porter. She is survived by her husband, Robert Porter Jr.; children; Bessie Sparks, of Chicago, Gloria McCoy, Leroy Porter, Eddie Will Porter, all of Columbus, Ruth Sparks, of Detroit, and Willie Porter, of Chicago; siblings, Mattie Brown, Johnny Sanders and Charlie Sanders, all of Columbus; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Duane Sparks, Elliott Carol, Devin Williams, Terrance McCoy, Tommie C. Coleman and Billy Sparks Jr.
