Annie A. McManus, 100 of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Trinity Health Care, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 10 to 11 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 11 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating and Bro. Ron McDougald assisting. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. McManus was born March 2, 1909 in Murray, TN to the late Nellie Journey Agnew and Rufus F. Agnew and was a resident of Columbus, MS for over sixty years having moved from Murray, TN. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS and liked to read. Mrs. McManus was retired from Belk-Hudson as a bookkeeper with fifteen years of service. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Burley McManus. Mrs. McManus is survived by her son, Lloyd B. (Barbara) McManus, Oxford, MS; daughters – Ruth (Charles) McReynolds, Arlington, TX; Mary E. (Sonny) Oswalt, Columbus, MS; sister – Reba Vaughn, Caledonia, MS; grandchildren – Melinda Swenson, Sherry Lynn, Lloyd B. “Mac” McManus, Kim Peck; Suzanne Ullman, Daphne Gordon, Holly McCullough; great grandchildren – Tommy Gordon, Michael Gordon, Brandi McCullough, Walker McCullough, David Swenson, Walter Swenson, Katie Swenson, Kendal Swenson, Alex Swenson, Zachery Swenson, Josh Young, Mendy Young, Tiler McManus, Taylor McManus, Ben Hollobaugh, Ragen Peck, Mitchel Peck, and Laura Kate Gordon. Pallbearers will be Henry Vaughn, Tommy Vaughn, George Vaughn, Mac McManus, Josh Young and Michael Gordon. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Trinity Health Care and members of Jean Moore’s Sunday School Class, Fairview Baptist Church.
