Annie Lou Reeves Tate, age 87, died Monday, December 17, 2018, at Trinity Healthcare in Columbus. Services will be held Thursday, December 20, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Gunter Peel, 2nd Ave. N. Chapel with Chaplin Earl McAnally officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory, 2nd Ave. N. location is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Tate was born in Lowndes County, Mississippi, to the late Morris Metro and Annie Bonds Reeves. She was a member of First Christian Church, Columbus and a retired employee of Wal-Mart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roger D. Tate, Sr. Survivors include her son, Roger D. Tate, Jr. and his wife, Y Lan of Shelbyville, KY; sister, Martha Reeves Mims and her husband, Joe of Columbus, MS; brothers, James Reeves of Columbus, MS and William Reeves and his wife, Betty of Guin, AL; grandchildren, Curtis Tate of Bloomfield, New Jersey and spouse, Michael Vines of Dallas, TX and Melanie Tate Nix and her husband, John of Shelbyville, KY; and great-granddaughter, Riley Elizabeth Nix. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Mims, Morri Mims, Robert Mims, Dylan Mims, Curtis Tate and George Barnes.
