COLUMBUS — Annie Louise Lanier Frierson, 78, died Sept. 17, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Canaan M.B. Church, with the Rev. Al Latham officiating. Burial will follow at Sandfield Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Frierson was born March 27, 1944, in Columbus, to the late Joe R. Lanier and Lula Wilder Lanier. She was a 1960 graduate of R.E. Hunt High School and was formerly employed as Director at Coleman Head Start and with Brandon Elementary School. She was also owner of Variety Savings Store and a member of Canaan M.B. Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Frierson.
She is survived by her husband, Alphonso Frierson of Columbus; children, Michael Frierson, Stanley Frierson, and David Frierson of Columbus, Stephanie Ratliff of McCullom, Alabama, and Catina Frierson of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Joanna Lanier of Columbus; 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Lomax, Melvin Lockett, Quincy Tate, Mark Clements, Arthur Blair Jr., and Larry Richey.
