SULLIGENT, Ala. — Annie Belle Black, 79, died June 27, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Services are today at 11 a.m. at Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, where the body will be from 10-11 a.m., with the Bro. Randy Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Seven Oaks Cemetery. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Black was born Jan. 5, 1930, in Lamar County, Ala. to the late John Riley and Mary Alice Pate Williams. She was a member of the Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Black was a 1950 graduate of Marion County High School. She had previously worked at McCoy Manufacturing and Reltoc. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Riley and Mary Alice Pate Williams; daughter, Joan Markham; brothers, Clinton and Amous Williams; sisters, Marie Etheridge and Ular Williams. She is survived by her husband, James Thomas Black, of Beaverton, Ala.; sons, Gene Black, of Guin, Ala., and Lee Markham, of Beaverton, Ala.; brothers, Felix Williams, of Dayton, Ohio, and Clifton Williams, of Moline, Ill.; sister, Clemmie Black, of East Moline, Ill.; two grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
