COLUMBUS — Alvin Johnson, 50, died Oct. 20, 2017. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at West Lowndes High School with Robert Brown Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Beulah Grove Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. today at Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus. Mr. Johnson was born July 22, 1967, to the late Willie Smith and Catherine Johnson. He was previously employed with Baldor Electric Company. He was a member of Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ. He graduated from Motley High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Ronica Johnson of Columbus; children, Alvonta Pusha, Paris Johnson and Tyieesha Hill, all of Columbus; step-children, Tynesha Noland and Brandon Windham, both of Columbus, Janai Robertson of Tupelo, Regina Peoples of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Stephen Pusha of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Lasaundra Pusha of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Willie Johnson of Fredricks, Maryland; and one grandchild. Pallbearers will be Henry Allen, Fred Robertson, Willie James Rice and Joe Williams.
