WEST POINT — Alowayne Horn Dowdle, 88, died Oct. 25, 2017, at Dugan Memorial Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Robinson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jackie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the funeral home. Mrs. Dowdle was born June 22, 1929, to the late Minnie Bruce and John Benjamin Horn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Dowdle; and brother, John Benjamin Horn Jr. She is survived by her son, Stanley Brent Butler of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughters, Sybil Butler Stagg of West Helena, Arkansas, Sheila Butler Brown and Shar Butler Garnett, both of West Point; sisters, Nina Hawkins of Georgia, Mary Lester of West Point, Laura Simanskey of Florida, and Minnie Merle Boykin of Raleigh; step-sister, Nina Dowdle; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Matthew Butler, Toby Stagg, Bill Stagg, Thomas Stagg, Kenny Frye and Jason Garnett.
