Two high school students have been arrested in connection to the recent string of auto burglaries in Oktibbeha County.
Jonathan Emerson, 18, of 1237 John High Road, was arrested on Wednesday night and charged with six counts of burglary of a vehicle. He is currently being held in the Oktibbeha County Jail awaiting bond. He will be arraigned Friday morning.
Trevor Westmoreland, 18, of 1020 John High Road was also arrested Wednesday evening. He was charged with one count of receiving stolen property.
Both teens are reportedly students at Starkville High School.
Nineteen car burglaries were reported to the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department on Monday. Investigators with the department said the break-ins occurred in the early morning hours on Monday, all happening before 5 a.m.
Investigators also say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
