JACKSON – Aniyah Jackson and Khalilah Karriem, both of Columbus, recently served as pages for the Mississippi House Representatives. Pages generally run errands for officials and House staff.
Jackson, 20, is the daughter of Tiona Wiltz and Alan Jackson, and she is a junior at Jackson State University. Karriem, 20, is the daughter of Carolyn and Kabir Karriem, and she is a junior at Jackson State University. Both students were sponsored by District 41 Rep. Kabir Karriem (D-Lowndes).
When asked about her experience as a page, Jackson said, “It has been a great honor serving as a page here at our state Capitol. This experience has been both entertaining and exciting. In the near future, I would love to come back again as a page.”
“I loved getting to serve as a page in the Mississippi House of Representatives,” Khalilah Karriem said. “I am so excited to come back and serve again.”
