Columbus police are searching for the suspect in a fatal shooting in December.
Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for murder for Kenny Riheam Armistad, 25, of Columbus, according to a Columbus Police Department press release issued Friday. Armistad is accused in the death of Frank Edwards, 20.
Edwards was shot in the front yard of a home on the 1300 block of 12th Avenue South just after 9 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2020. The Dispatch previously reported Edwards was with a group of people who began arguing with two people in a vehicle. Another man was shot, treated and released from Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Police Chief Fred Shelton said investigators believe Armistad was “involved” with the incident.
“Armistad is wanted, we have a felony murder warrant for him and we are asking for anyone that knows his location to contact us,” Shelton said in the press release.
Anyone with information on Armistad’s whereabouts may call CPD 662-244-3500 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151, or leave investigators a tip on the P3 phone application.
