The Starkville Police Department is investigating a body found at a car wash on Stark Road this morning.
Chief of Police David Lindley said a call came in at 5:27 a.m. reporting a dead body at the Dawg Wash car wash on Stark Road adjacent to Dollar General.
Lindley said the case is being treated as a homicide.
“We’re conducting a death investigation and it does appear to be a homicide,” he said.
He declined to give further information, citing it as an ongoing investigation.
However, sources close to the investigation identified the deceased as a male.
Lindley said the SPD is working in conjunction with the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department.
Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact the Starkville Police Department at 662-323-4131 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
