THINGS TO DO IN THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE

On Thursday, Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach will participate in an hour-long interview with host Neil Price from 7-8 p.m. at the Greater Starkville Development Partnership office on Main Street in Starkville. Because of safety protocols due to the pandemic, fans cannot attend in person, but the interview will be broadcast through the downtown speaker system, meaning spectators can listen while outside or while eating outdoors at downtown dining options.

On Saturday, the opportunity to shop at local produce and cottage food vendors will be available at the Starkville Community Market with social distancing guidelines enforced at Fire Station Park from 8-11 a.m. Masks are required. If a customer does not own a face covering, one will be provided. No customer is allowed to touch produce and place it back on a vendor's table for any reason. The market will only be allowed to accommodate 20 customers at a time and lines will be socially distanced.

Lion Hills Center and Golf Club in Columbus will be hosting a hang-out on the patio every Saturday during football season from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Call 662-329-6747 to reserve a tee time.

Making Hay Day will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Commerce Street in West Point, which will align with Art in the Parking Lot. Customers can shop farmers' market and arts and crafts vendors, with plenty of pumpkins for sale.

Also in West Point, the Harriette Gaskin sweet potato ministry will take place Saturday by First Christian Church on Broad Street from 8 a.m. until supplies run out. The church plans to give away more than 7,000 pounds of sweet potatoes.
