STARKVILLE — A Starkville teenager has turned himself in to Starkville Police Department after a shooting on Catherine Street Monday afternoon.
De’Anthony Avante Carpenter, 17, is accused of shooting a male victim during a fight, according to a Starkville Police Department press release issued Monday. The victim was treated at OCH Regional Medical Center and then airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he is in serious but stable condition, OCH Director of Emergency Services Michael Hunt said.
In the press release, SPD authorities asked for citizens to call with information on Carpenter’s whereabouts. Carpenter turned himself in at about 11 p.m.
Police do not have any other suspects in the shooting, SPD public information officer Brandon Lovelady said.
Carpenter is in custody at Oktibbeha County Jail on $100,000 bond.
