The Board of Directors of BankFirst Financial Services recently announced the appointment of James B. Flemming to its board of directors. Flemming, who served most recently as chairman of the FNB of Central Alabama Board of Directors, brings more than 50 years of banking experience to the board.
A native of Alabama and a graduate of The University of Alabama and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Flemming has spent his entire career in the financial industry. In 1985, he moved to Tuscaloosa to become the Community President of SouthTrust Bank of Tuscaloosa County. He went on to start the Bank of Tuscaloosa, where he served as chairman and Chief Executive Officer from its opening in 1988. In 2010, Flemming joined FNB of Central Alabama as its President and CEO. Under his leadership, the bank flourished, and in 2016, he accepted the position as Chairman of the FNB of Central Alabama Board.
In addition to being recognized as an accomplished business leader, Flemming is also active in many civic and charitable organizations, including United Way, Chamber of Commerce, DCH Foundation, U of A President’s Cabinet and Culverhouse Board of Visitors.
