If you're driving past the Magnolia Bowl, you may have seen a Rhett Realty sign perched in front of Columbus Inn and Suites.
Columbus Inn and Suites, 506 Hwy 45 N., is a 90-room inn priced at $1.45 million on a nearly 3-acre-lot. The inn has a fully-equipped restaurant, kitchen, pool and meeting areas.
The property was originally built as a Holiday Inn in 1960 and then contained 62 rooms. It featured a banquet room and a coffee shop.
Farther down 45, Window World opened at 134 Lincoln Road, next to Walmart. The exterior and interior window installation store opened earlier this month. Window World was founded in North Carolina in 1995, and has now grown to more than 200 stores nationwide. Window World is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-5p.m and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
All the way up 45, across from Hank's #1 BBQ, a new sign reading Waldrop and Co. Real Estate is now poised on the old Cross Golf Cart building at 5736 Hwy. 45 N. According to Lowndes County Tax Assessor's office, Dustin Waldrop purchased the building in late July.
Coming back into town Grassroots Natural Candle Company moved across the street to 127 Fifth St. N. Grassroots offers a large natural candle selection, jewelry, soap, signs, bath bombs and even homemade laundry detergent. It's open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from noon-5 p.m.
A Starkville couple opened Twigs Nursery and Landscaping, 7653 Oktoc Road, last week. Kandiace Brown said she met her husband Kody in a nursery while they were both studying horticulture at Mississippi State University. MSU graduates Kody and Kandiace stayed in Starkville with Kody's landscaping business and together decided to open a one-stop-shop for all the necessities to turn your thumb green.
Twigs offers a variety of plants, flowers, arrangements, seeds, pots, garden tools, Mississippi-made items, pottery and of course landscaping. It's open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
