Columbus Police Department is investigating two shootings at houses from earlier this week.
The first shooting occurred at about 10 p.m. at a house on the 300 block of 21st Street North, according to a CPD press release. Three shots entered the home, but no one was injured.
At about 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, there was another shooting in the 400 block of 15th Avenue South, the press release said. There were also no injuries in that shooting.
Investigators believe the two shootings are related and said each took place after individuals got in an argument, the press release said.
While investigating the Wednesday shooting, police responded to a fight that broke out by the gas pumps of the Sprint Mart on Highway 45 North, in which someone brandished a handgun. Police detained eight people, including a juvenile, at the scene and witnesses reported one of the three vehicles involved in the fight appeared to match a vehicle in the second shooting. However, investigators made no arrests in relation to the shooting after questioning the suspects, though one person was arrested for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Police also recovered two handguns at the Sprint Mart, but officers said no shots were fired.
CPD is investigating both shootings and the fight.
