A man accused of kidnapping a woman last week and driving her around Columbus is now in custody.
Lawayne Rokeith Robinson, 36, of 362 Roanoke Circle, turned himself in to Columbus Police Department Tuesday, according to a CPD press release.
Robinson allegedly got in an altercation with the victim on Feb. 8 in the parking lot of Kmart on Highway 45 North. According to the victim, Robinson forced her into a vehicle and drove her around Columbus before eventually releasing her. The victim was later treated and released for injuries at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Robinson has been released from Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $75,000 bond.
