Two Columbus teens are charged with burglary of a commercial building for allegedly breaking into a local business last week and stealing 20 guns.
Columbus police arrested Quareantae Antwain Miller and an unidentified juvenile on Oct. 12 in connection with the incident at K&S Outdoors on Highway 45 North. Both are 17.
A Columbus Police Department press release said officers responded to an alarm call at K&S at 1:17 a.m. on Oct. 11. The department worked alongside Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms and Tobacco to apprehend the suspects the next day at Miller’s home on Eighth Avenue North.
Miller has previously been charged as an adult for another offense, the press release said. The Dispatch previously reported he was arrested in January in connection with an armed home robbery on Lyford Drive.
He is being held in Lowndes County Adult Detention Center, and his bond has not been set.
The unidentified juvenile has been turned over to the youth court system, according to police.
