A man wanted in connection with a July 19 Lowndes County home invasion is in custody in Tennessee, according to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
LCSO Chief Deputy Marc Miley said investigators went to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where they served Tommie Lee Deloach Jr. with arrest warrants on Monday.
Deloach was arrested on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a stolen weapon, armed robbery and as a fugitive from justice.
Deloach, 21, is being held at the Rutherford County Jail in Murfreesboro awaiting extradition to Lowndes County.
Officials have been searching for three black male suspects from the late night home invasion. One victim, who was visiting the home on Tabernacle Road, was shot in the incident and sent to a hospital in Jackson. The victim was listed in stable condition before facing surgery last week.
The alleged attackers assaulted two residents during the invasion. Officials have described the suspects as dressed in black and camouflage, with their faces covered during the incident.
Deloach is the first arrest in the case, and Miley said he expects more arrests to follow.
