MERIDIAN — Authorities in Mississippi say two people are dead after a SUV and a minivan collided at a dangerous highway intersection.
The Meridian Star reports that Mississippi Highway Patrol Sgt. Andy West says 16-year-old Gavin Thomas Toler and 57-year-old Tyla Rhodes Toler died after the Chevy Tahoe they rode in Wednesday overturned on U.S. Route 45. West says there weren’t updates on the five other SUV passengers who were injured.
West says a Honda Odyssey had failed to yield the right of way before pulling onto Mississippi Highway 145. West says the minivan’s three passengers were uninjured.
Witness Donna King says some of the Tahoe’s passengers were ejected after the minivan didn’t slow down at a stop sign and struck the SUV.
