A Lowndes County man has been arrested for allegedly strangling his romantic partner.
Deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Land Road — off Highway 45 north of Columbus — Sunday night and arrested 52-year-old Kenneth Wayne Bailey. The suspect is accused of attempting to strangle a person with whom he has been in a romantic relationship, according to LCSO Capt. Ryan Rickert.
Bailey was charged with domestic violence aggravated assault by strangulation.
Bailey is in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center with felony bond set at $10,000. He also faces bonds and fines from misdemeanor charges.
