The landscape of both downtown Columbus and Starkville is changing little by little.
A Little of Everything, formerly located on Highway 45 in Columbus, moved downtown this week. The store, owned by Jeannette Foster and Drena Carpenter, opened its new doors Tuesday at 409 Main St.
This store, Foster said, is “a sort of Plato’s Closet meets boutique for the home.”
It offers men’s, women’s and children’s brand-name and designer clothing at discounted prices up to 75 percent off the original retail price, along with refurbished furniture and reclaimed, hand-made home decor items. Some of Foster and Carpenter’s handiwork is visible in the extra 1,500 square feet gained in the move.
A Little of Everything is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
Therapeutic Pilates opened in Starkville. This unique studio is the first in Mississippi to combine pilates, physical therapy and mindfulness into a single practice.
Katie Langley said she aims to help people “move with greater ease, be more active, and less prone to injury.” She has been a physical therapist for over 10 years, and with the addition of pilates and mindfulness to her practice, she offers her clients a holistic approach to rehabilitation and wellness. Langley offers both pilates-based physical therapy for specific injuries, injury reduction and general wellness and fitness. Currently she offers a free discovery visit, giving fitness and movement assessments as an introduction to her practice and how it can help her clients.
Clients can contact Langley through her website (www.therapilatesstudio.com).
“Where’s the food at” is generally a good question to ask, and it’s even better when the food is on the move.
Where the Food At (WTF) Starkville is in the process of moving from their former location, 98 Boyd Road, to a new location in downtown Starkville at 101 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The restaurant began its move in December and expects to reopen next week.
WTF is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday, 4-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon-7 p.m. Sundays.
