Starkville Police Department arrested a third man allegedly connected to a November shooting at Starkville Plaza Apartments.
Officers, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal Task Force, charged Ricardo M. Thompson, 28, of Starkville, on aggravated assault and armed robbery warrants.
Thompson is being held in Oktibbeha County Jail, and his total bond is set at $50,000.
He is scheduled to appear in Starkville Municipal Court on Jan. 30.
SPD responded to the 1426 Louisville St. apartment complex on the morning of Nov. 12 after receiving a report of multiple gunshots fired in the area. One victim was shot in the shoulder, a SPD release states.
Two other Starkville residents — Dequayle Tate, 24, and Lavon Edmonds, 29 — were previously charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery in connection to the incident, SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady confirmed.
SPD released no further details about the incident or the arrest.
Resident faces sexual battery charge
A Starkville man is behind bars after he was charged with sexual battery stemming from a Dec. 22 incident.
SPD arrested James D. Sudduth, 33, and charged him with one felony count on Friday.
He is being held in Oktibbeha County Jail on $100,000 bond.
SPD released no further information about the incident or arrest.
Sudduth’s initial appearance in Starkville Municipal Court is scheduled for Jan. 30.
Theft, gun charges filed
Another Starkville man was arrested New Year’s Day after an incident at Deweese Pawn, Gun and Trophy.
SPD charged Damian D. Burchfield, 21, with felony possession of a stolen firearm and misdemeanor petit larceny.
The petit larceny charge is connected to an incident occurring at the shop on Dec. 22.
Burchfield was booked in Oktibbeha County Jail. His bond was set at $26,000.
He is due in court on Jan. 30.
