BILOXI — Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant is walking back speculation that he might consider a job in the Trump administration.
The Sun Herald reports Bryant said Tuesday in Biloxi that he has “the best job in the world.” He also said: “I’m going to be governor as long as my term lasts.”
Republican Bryant has just over three years left in his second term as governor. He is limited to two terms.
Bryant campaigned for Republican Donald Trump for president by raising money and speaking in several states.
After Trump won the presidential election last week, Bryant said he did not expect a call to serve in the administration. But Bryant also said then that if a job offer were made, he would consider it.
