BOGUE CHITTO — Three Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers were involved in a series of car accidents in Lincoln County.
MHP spokesman Brandon Fortenberry says the series of wrecks began after the first trooper responded to a crash Sunday afternoon. Severe weather caused him to lose control of his car and he crashed into a tree.
A second trooper responded to the wreck and found the first trooper unconscious. He decided to take him to seek medical attention, but on their way to the hospital, the second trooper lost control of his car and crashed.
A third trooper responded to the first wreck and also crashed his car.
The first trooper was eventually taken to the hospital and is in stable condition with serious injuries. The other two didn’t suffer any injuries.
