Kingdom Vision International Church in Columbus spent the last four nights this week hosting a tent revival on South Frontage Road in Columbus.
The revival began Monday, according to the church’s pastor R.J. Matthews. Thursday night was supposed to be the final service of the revival, but Matthews said they may extend it.
“I don’t think they’re that common,” Matthews said. “I know we’ve had a few in this area over the years, maybe here and there. But we have been amazed at the response…you can tell there’s an excitement just to be outside of the four walls of the church.”
Matthews estimated that almost 300 people came out Monday night. Tuesday night saw a crowd of 285, and 315 people attended the revival on Wednesday. Many attendees were from the Golden Triangle, but others came from Oxford, Amory and other parts of northern Mississippi. Pastors and other guest speakers came from Tupelo, Alabama, Tennessee and Atlanta, Matthews said.
“It’s been really really exciting,” Matthews said.
The revival was held on property located about a mile west of West Lowndes High School. Kingdom Vision International bought the property over a year ago and has plans to build a new church building there.
