MONROE COUNTY — A body found along Splunge Road in late June has been identified as Johnny Pace, a 28-year-old from Sulligent, Alabama.
Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley said Pace had been reported missing July 27. A body was found in woods off Splunge Road in the Greenwood Springs Community on July 31.
Gurley said the body was sent to the state medical examiner. Forensic identification was made Friday by using dental records.
“The autopsy did not show any trauma to the body,” Gurley said. “We believe he died of natural causes.”
An exact cause of death has not been determined, Gurley said, adding that “no foul play is suspected.”
Pace lived on Flynn Street in Sulligent.
