Nurses.org has included Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle among the list of the safest hospitals to work as a nurse in 2023.
Nurses.org used information submitted to The Leapfrog Group to rank each hospital. The safety Leapfrog ratings are updated twice a year and comprise up to 22 evidence-based practice measures of patient safety. Baptist Golden Triangle was the only hospital in Mississippi recognized by the organization.
“I am proud of our team at Baptist Golden Triangle, and I am thankful our colleagues are committed to safety for patients, nurses and all employees,” said Paul Cade, administrator and chief executive officer. “When nurses are considering where they want to work, safety should always be a consideration.”
In November 2022, The Leapfrog Group awarded Baptist Golden Triangle with an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for the 22nd consecutive time, recognizing it as one of only 22 hospitals in the country, and one of only two in the Southeast, to be awarded an “A” in every Hospital Safety Grade cycle since 2012.
“A hospital receiving consistent ‘A’ grades for an entire decade is a rare and remarkable achievement,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group at the time. “This persistence demonstrates a hospital’s dedication to continuously prioritize patient safety, while adapting to an evolving healthcare landscape and facing the challenges of a global pandemic. This hospital and community should be momentously proud,” she added.
