A number of Columbus citizens have reported receiving robocalls regarding their subscription to The Dispatch. Those calls are bogus and are not coming from the newspaper, Publisher Peter Imes said.
Customers have contacted the newspaper regarding automated calls warning their subscriptions and payment information had expired. Imes said Dispatch customers would not receive automated calls if that were the case.
“When a customer’s subscription is about to end, we use the mail, email and personal phone calls to make sure our subscribers get renewed,” Imes said. “Our renewal phone calls are always made by our staff, and the caller ID should be our main number: (662) 328-2424.
“If you’re ever not sure you are receiving a legitimate phone call, simply hang up and call our office at (662) 328-2424,” he continued. “When you hear our automated attendant, just press zero to be connected to one of our customer service representatives.”
