A teen faces an aggravated assault charge for shooting at a driver Friday in North Columbus.
Dorian Williams, 17, was standing outside near 18th Street and 11th Avenue North when he shot multiple times at a female driver in a passing car, according to Columbus Police Department.
The car was struck once, police said, but the victim was unharmed. A police investigator arrived to the scene and arrested Williams after a foot chase. The victim and suspect did not know each other. Williams told police he thought he was being shot at, but officers have not corroborated that story, instead calling it a random act of violence.
Williams was one of two suspects charged with murder in the July 2021 shooting death of 22-year-old Quinshawn Lucious on Swedenburg Circle. He was out on bond at the time of Friday’s shooting and is being held in Lowndes County Adult Detention Center without bond.
